Fiat Linea Car - April 2024 

The Indian division of the Fiat range of cars have got a new leap since the launch of their car Fiat Linea. This sedan based car which is the same platform of the Fiat Grande Punto has actually been a success not only in India but globally too. The car has been designed in such a way that it combines practicality with the innovative beauty throughout. Be it the front grille which resembles the Maserati or the twin pod lights, the elegant flow of the wheel arches, the waistline or the windscreen. The distinguishing element which separates the diesel from the petrol variant is the discreet ‘Multijet’ badge which is placed in the left side of the Fiat’s badge. The only thing which many may seem to be disturbing are the placement of the power windows switch that has been placed a bit on the upper side. The ground clarity clubbed by the magnificent light makes driving at nights much simpler as the low beam are enough for adequate lights on the dark roads. However with the high beam lights switched on the roads seem to be great to cruise at speeds above 100 kmph. 

Fiat Linea gets a centrally integrated audio system which plays single discs and comes with USB connectivity inside the glove box. The Blue & Me system controls the controls that are mounted over the steering wheel. Speaking about the space inside the car is really spacious which could fit in the tallest of the people around easily. The legroom or the headroom seems to be just perfect. The functional spaces clubbed with the more than enough storage spaces make this car best in space in the class it’s offered.

The power behind the wheels is provided by the 1.4ltr FIRE petrol engine and the diesel gets the 1.3 litre multijet diesel engine. The petrol as well as the diesel engine is steered by a 5-speed manual transmission. The 1368cc four cylinder petrol engines produces up to 90bhp and a torque of 115Nm, whereas the 16 valve 1.3 litr diesel engine is capable of producing 85bhp and a torque of 203Nm. It takes about 15.8 seconds to reach the speed of 100kmph from 0 where as the diesel does the same within 15.3 seconds. For the Fiat fans the mileage could be one of the things which may disappoint them as the car promises to deliver anywhere around the 10kmpl mark for the petrol engine and 11kmpl for the diesel one. 

Driving the Linea is truly amazing as it presents you with one of the best in class comfort drives against the others in the race. The handling has been designed well as it runs well on most of the roads driven through. The steering has been made light which starts weighing up with the increase in speeds thanks to the great suspension setup.
