Description - Driving the all new Ertiga, the new launch by Maruti seems to be a winner which is a new offering by the company. It surely felt an uplifted launch by the company which has created a new class altogether with this new car.Entering inside it gave us the feeling of a huge compact car which could fit in 7 people easily, making a great car for the big Indian families. Although the last seat seems to have less of leg space it is way better than any other MUV in the same class. It actually seems to us that this car could even give a stiff competition to the cars like the Innova, Aria and the Xylo.

Starting the engine it felt much like a Maruti which we all have been accustomed to for so many years. It surely has the best ground clearance in its class. The pickup was smooth and acceleration was good from the start. We raced to a speed of 100kmph in just about 16 seconds which was a pretty decent performance. Driving on the long road it showed command and looked to be stable at speeds above 100kmph. Managing the bad roads we dint feel much of a problem while inside and with the air conditioner switched on you would not be troubled noise outside. The gearbox responded quite well and made it a smooth shift even on the congested roads.

The brake system also seemed to be quite impressive and it surely makes you feel the car is for Indian roads when you are behind the wheels. The functional and the storage areas inside are quite handy and the car has some better quality of materials fitted inside. Stopping by to observe the car from outside we felt that it was an extended Maruti Ritz. Although it gets the front lights same as the Maruti swift and the engine of the SX4 sedan the car makes its own identity with a new rear and a much muscular look than other cars of Maruti. Seated inside we felt quite comfortable which could be for any of the rows you may opt to sit.

Overall with our experience of driving this new MUV from Maruti we feel this car promises to make a strong impact in the MUV market. This creates a new segment of cars altogether with an MUV rather the LUV as the company calls it at a great price. We give it a rating of 3.5 on 5 which compromises on the high quality fittings and features which might be found in the other MUVs.
