Skoda group is owned by Volkswagen, which itself is one of the biggest car manufactures in the world. This is the reason, why Skoda vehicles outnumber other vehicles from different companies in the quality, style & luxury segment, as they get world class technology from Volkswagen. Skoda Cars are present in all the major categories, hatchback, sedan & SUV, under which vehicles are classified. But company wants to display more number of cars in its showroom, so that people can select their dream car from wide the variety, they can grab the eye balls & also most importantly, they can capture the Indian Car market.
To realize this dream, Skoda has launched Skoda Rapid, a C-segment Car, making it a latest entrant in the sedan segment from the Skoda Family. Standing in front of this car is none other than SX4, Verna Fluidic & its sisters concern’s product, Volkswagen Vento. Though it may be competing with Volkswagen Vento, but the surprising element is that both the cars will be produced from the same plant, Volkswagen’s plant in Chakan, near Pune.
As the Skoda Rapid Car was standing in the showroom, with other cars Skoda, it appeared to us that it’s quite difficult to distinguish between the front portions of Rapid & Fabia. Difference in the exterior is that, Fabia has a hatch, while rapid has a boot, making it a Sedan segment car. Again, the feature which amazed to us was that its back resembles to its own competitor, Volkswagen Vento. As both Vento & rapid are being produced from the same plant, it’s quite obvious that there are certain things which are common in both & those are the platform & the engine.
With this launch & also because of the presence of company’s top officials in India, some time back, one thing is very clear that Skoda is very much keen to expand its base in India & other countries. The Skoda Rapid Price has been kept comparatively low as compared to other sedans & because of which the lines of worry are clearly visible on the foreheads of other car manufacturers. Eight variants of the car have been launched in both petrol and diesel engine. The car offers best in terms of technology & looks, without making any compromise with the safety.
Both in the National & International markets, Skoda Rapid will play an important role to take the company to newer heights. As a polite suggestion to the company, we would like Skoda Designers to use their creative minds & work on the interiors.
