Tata Indigo Marina
Indigo marina is that car which has entered a segment that was long lost and conceived as some kind of a marketing goof up, after the lack of success of the Palio adventure, siena weekend, baleno altura, tata estate and so on. But, Tata aimed at changing all that with this; it aimed at implementing a tried and tested formula, a tried and tested engine, easy on the pocket efficiency and easier still price. The prospect of offering SUV space at Saloon car price; a diesel heart and reliable build; excellent recipe I would say.
Design and interiors
The design principle of Tata motors India has been described earlier, they work with something called box theory; they keep adding boxes at the rear end. Take the indica, add a box to the rear and you get the indigo, add another on top of the previous box and you get the marina. Brilliant! But, the story is actually a bit longer than that. With the marina, tata aims at lifestyle users, so it has gone about providing many small attachments that help give this car some air.
No, this car isn't exactly the palio adventure blend, with all aggressive bull bars or the weekend blend with a chic feel to things, no. Tata has its own way of doing things, it adds long tail lights, few nets in the boot and an extended boot cover to distinguish between its cars, save for these changes and an extra badge, there isn't much to choose between the indigo and the marina. No, wait there are those two extra pieces of glass to cover the new box! We don't to write this car off as yet another tata with just an extra box, but tata hasn't given us too much to write home about. Strictly, if there is some extra luggage space you think you require, go for it; else save your money and stick to the indigo.
