Codenamed MC2, Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India’s (HMSI) second bike for India, the Shine, is the latest entrant into a packed 125cc segment. The Shine, which will hit shelves within April 2006, is a significant bike for Honda, for it’s evident that given some time the 125cc segment holds enough potential to grow into the largest motorcycling segment in the market.
Our first impression of the Shine as it emerged through confetti and fireworks at the launch can be summed into two words—cautious and conservative. Whether that is disappointing or not is for you to decide, as H...

It’s here! India’s most important motorcycle launch this year has landed. How serious Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India (HMSI) designs in India are, can be judged by their ambitions to amplify total two-wheeler production from a current 5,00,000 units to 1.2 million by 2006-07. We were privileged to receive no less than bike number one to leave the factory gates, and here’s the very first comprehensive and complete road test of the 150cc Unicorn. :
Design, Engineering and Interiors:
Sporty and conventional are two words that best describe the Unicor...

Honda Accord
One of the most successful sedans in the world, the Accord has won many hearts in India as well. The new-shape Accord, which arrived in 2003, has wiped out most of its D-segment rivals with its talent, badge and above all, its pricing.:
Design, Engineering and Interiors:
While the first Accord offered in India was a staid, square shape, the new car is quite futuristic, with its exaggerated wedge-design and large, triangular headlamps. There's plenty of glass area and very modern surfacing as well; the only downside is the too-heavy-looking rear.

Honda civic, a world winner so to speak. Its competition the world over is the corolla, which unfortunately we haven't yet put through the paces, but the Honda has let the cat among the pigeons, and their Japanese competitor scrambling for shelter. I know that you have already been smitten by her looks, and waiting to drive one, perhaps drive one home! I've dwell-ed on the drive I had in Bangalore for a few days before writing this; just to let the testosterone settle. Well, I don't' have too many things to say about the looks, except "Just look at it". Well, some of us thought the C-pillar l...

A chic SUV; atleast here in India. Lots of flash I searched much to find out what this CR-V actually stands for, but couldnt find out. So, not to get dejected, I drove one to find out what this Petrol powered SUV is doing in the Indian market which, though fond of SUVs is not exactly fond of petrol powered versions. This though was different, it cannot be termed a runaway success like a Scorpio, but this car has not exactly done poorly either. This difference with this car lay in the fact that it has times new roman style capital H on its grille, a symbol widely associated with excellent cars, not just w...

Finally, its here. Honda has decided to grace Indian roads with the elusive Vtec on the city. A motor that was lost to the old version of the city, has now been reintroduced in the City ZX. There is a marked difference though, the fact that the new city is completely different when compared to its cousin. There aren't too many parallels one can draw between the two cars. The old city had turned into a legend; it was a much needed taste of power to the masses; the masses of course endorsed it with both hands.
The old city though was scrapped in favor of the new city, with th...
