Ford India decided to develop a new engine to power the smaller capacity variant of the Ikon. Ford India will be ready to unveil the Ikon powered by the newly developed 1.3-litre Rocam engine. The road test reveals how much of a better car the new Ikon is. he 1.3 remains the stepchild in the Ikon family.

This is Ford’s idea of the perfect family car. Almost an SUV, almost an MPV and almost a hatch, the Fusion is a mixed bag of a lot of automotive solutions, some of which we haven’t even listed here. The Fusion, on sale this month, will sit a notch above Ford’s saloon, the Ikon.
The company is hoping that this amalgam of style, shape, space and performance will be more than enough to make Indian customers part with their hard-earned bucks. The Fusion is difficult to categorise and doesn’t fit squarely into any segment.

When Ford launches the Mondeo in early December, the last thing it can expect is tepid competition. The Mondeo will join the battle for honours in the newly emerging 'D'-segment against a fresh crop of luxury cars. The Ford Fusion has been the recipient of warm reviews and is a top contender in the ‘midsize family car’ segment. In fact, it is not the kind of car that blends into quiet obscurity, but rather commands a second look with its aggressive stance and angular profile.
