A city car for the common man, Maruti Suzuki 800 has crowded the roads of the country ever since its launch in the year 1984. Its low fuel consumption costs and small and compact size for parking has made Maruti 800 a user friendly car and first choice of the middle class families of the country. Before the launch of its successor, Maruti Alto, it was the hugest selling automobile in India. Not only in our country but in Pakistan, Maruti 800 is one of the most popular brands purchased by people though it is called by the name of Maruti Mehran in the country. 800 Engine

Maruti 800 is powered by 796 cc MPFI 32 bit ECM engine that consists of two valves per cylinder. Petrol is used as the few though in the later models of the same engine is designed to run over LPG and others. There are 4 to 5 speed transmissions in the standard Maruti 800. The engine model is water cooled SOHC (IC2V). The capacity of the fuel tank is about 28 liters and the car can accelerate to the 60 in a minute from the start. Maruti 800 is has the capacity of four person and is sized small to suit the needs of the common man. It measure 131.5 by 56.7 by 55.3 inches and has got the ground clearance area as 6.7 inches. The gross weight of the vehicle is about 1000 kg and curb weight is 650 kg. The radial of the tyres measure 145/70 R-12 and has got two brake drum systems- front brakes drum and rear brakes drum. Rack and pinion is the steering type with the least turning radius of about 4.4 meter. The interiors are simple and provide a comfortable ride. If we talk about the safety, then you will not find any additional safety feature equipped in it. This car has got 5 door hatchbacks as the body style. On highways, Maruti 800 gives the mileages of 18.7 km/L and in cities it is quiet less up to 13.1 km/L

As already mentioned, Maruti 800 is available in four variants namely, Maruti 800 AX Uniq, 800 Duo Std LPG, 800 AC – BS III and Maruti Duo AC LPG whose prices range in between Rs.1,95,028 to Rs. 2,26,177. You will also find a large array of color choices of your Maruti 800 like white, blue, red, steel grey, silver, metallic and many others. In India the assembly of Maruti 800 cars is done in the Gurgaon Factory at Haryana.

Maruti 800 car is very comfortable and affordable car for the middle class person. it is a luxury with low cost. anybody can afford to have this car.
