Chennai, April 30, 2008: Volvo, today extended it’s sales and service support network with the inauguration of the new Service & Parts facility of Infra Equip - the Authorised Service Dealer for Volvo Trucks, Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Buses in Jharkhand region. The launch of the new service & part facility is in line with the company’s growth plans for the region. With this step Volvo can now extend better support in terms of responsiveness, delivery and turnaround time to its customers in the region.
The new service & part facility by Volvo is an effort to be the customers’ most preferred business partner with the country’s best after-sales support. This partnership helps keep customers in the forefront of transportation, technology and profitability through global products, support & advice. The service & part support offers systems such as the Volvo local dealer system and dealer management system – an overall parts and workshop administration tool, Logistic Partner Agreement – a tool for dealers parts inventory management and Volvo Genuine Parts which are key component to keep Volvo machines in their peak performance.
Infra Equip support dealership is located in Dhanbad and currently manages 17 service support points. The new workshop will significantly upgrade the support.

Currently, in the East region Volvo has 27 support locations for Volvo Trucks, including 3 major service & parts centre, with over 700 Volvo trucks in operation. In Jharkhand specifically Volvo has over 250 Volvo trucks in operation and a few buses – which continue to see increasing growth. Adding to this are about 343 Volvo construction equipment machines in the states of Jharkhand and Bihar, which continue to grow at rapidly. The Volvo trucks operating in the area are high-performance trucks which operate more than 19 hours a day, all-year long. After sales support & parts delivery becomes even more crucial for these Volvo products which offer such high productivity & performance levels.
