Volkswagen was successful in putting up a good show by unveiling three new cars at this year's Auto Expo. The Beetle was presented first time to Indian audience and rolled out at the Expo. The details of the 2012 Beetle have not been disclosed fully and it is expected to come out in second half of this year. It is expected to be similar to the Jetta and the Yeti, while it will be having a TDI Motor of 140 bhp. The prices have not been disclosed and they will be revealed when it will be launched. Volkswagen has good expectation from it in the Indian markets.
The other car which was revealed was the Touareg and it has been scheduled to be launched this year in April. The new additional part in the Touareg is its front end which comes in sync with current gen Volkswagen models and also has different new range engines. Touareg has a V6 3.0 TDI Motor which can produce around 285 bhp. It is paired with a 8 speed gearbox which has automatic transmission. The other entertaining features are off road and traction electronic assistance. Though it has a wide range of features, still it was overshadowed because of strong competition from BMW and Audi. But now Volkswagen has been a good and well established brand in the country and the second innings could be more than successful.
There is also the XL-1 by the Volkswagen brand which has been a very efficient car. It has managed to achieve fuel efficiency of 111 Kmpl. The other features include weight reduction, aerodynamics, and efficient diesel and electric hybrid. The rear mirrors have been removed and replaced by the cameras, where as the rear wheels have been enclosed. The power comes into the car by the TDI engine and twin cylinder that has the ability to produce 47 bhp and 25 bhp from the electric motor. There is the DSG gear box of 7-speed route to the power. The XL-1 is almost similar to the Polo in size, the way the car cuts in air and has a profile of razor blade.
The other car was the Phaeton which has been powered by TDI engine of V6 and 3.0 litres and gives output of 240 PS. These were the cars displayed b Volkswagen in Auto Expo 2012. The company has planned to meet the requirements of all the consumers in India. According to the company all the cars have got good efficiency and good space. These cars have been made according to the requirements of Indian consumers, by having a god market survey. These Concepts Cars by Volkswagen seemed to be impressive and will surely catch the consumer's eye, though they faced a stiff competition from the other big players but the previous success of Volkswagen in Indian Markets will surely help these Cars. The XL1, Touareg, Think Blue, beetle, Drive Blue at Auto Expo made Volkswagen's show a success. The earliest sale among these is of the Touareg which is in April 2012.
