TVS Motors launched Star City

Chennai, March 13, 2007: The Star City, entry level motorcycle of TVS Motors has been launched. This two wheeler is coming in its basic and premium versions, the 100 cc.
 
Mr. KN Radhakrishnan, president of TVS Motors said, "We have come out with 'Star Sport' to cater to that segment of customers, who were looking for more style in Star. While the Star variants at present have a market share of 10%, among all categories put together, we expect this to increase to 13%, with the launch of 'Star Sport. There could be cannibalisation to the tune of around 10%. But, then the move launch a more stylish Star is for a set of customers, who were keen to buy a Star if it offered more style, along with its existing qualities"
 
This entry level two wheeler will definitely bring a rise in the market share of the company. From 26% it might grow up to 35%. The basic and the premium variants have a price difference of Rs. 2000. The company s new plant in Himachal Pradesh will be operational from April this year. TVS Motors is planning to launch a new Apache i.e. is three wheeler by august.

The launch of these two vehicles will surely be bliss for the company to make its position felt in the market.
