Tata Motors rolled out its 100,000th Ace Mini Truck

Mumbai, March 19, 2007: In just 22 months, Tata Motors rolled out its 100,000 Ace. The 100,000th Ace was flagged off by Mr. Ratan N. Tata, Chairman, Tata Motors.

“It is a moment of great pride and satisfaction for all of us at Tata Motors on achieving this milestone in such a short span of time. We are happy that we have been able to meet customers’ need for a mini-truck for the last-mile connection, while providing comfort, style and easy maintenance. What particularly pleases us is that the Ace has been able to generate self-employment, with many of its owners being individuals who have entered the transportation industry for the first time.” Mr. Ravi Kant, the managing director of Tata Motors marked these words at the launch.

The launch of Ace was very terrific and very well accepted by commercial vehicle industry. It is a reliable mini truck and its designing has been done with latest technological know how.  Various features like magazine pockets, utility trays, elegant two toned seats, twin speed wipers etc add to its facilities.

Ace has several applications like it can be used as a water tanker, delivery van, garbage tipper, dumper placer etc. Due to its multiple uses it is greatly in demand. It is powered by a small and efficient unique twin cylinder 16PS IDI 700cc diesel engine. Suitable for both rural and urban use, the Ace has the ability to carry a variety of payloads and has the agility to navigate narrow by-lanes with its turning radius of 4.3 meters.

The company is setting up a new plant in Uttaranchal whose production will begin by this year. It will have an annual capacity of 250,000 units.
