Nissan Production, Sales and Export Results for February 2008

Tokyo, March 28, 2008: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today announced production, sales and export figures for February 2008.

1. Production
Nissan’s global production grew 14.0% year-on-year to 322,257 units, marking an all-time record for the month of February. In Japan, the X-Trail, Rogue and new Infiniti EX contributed to increased production. Total domestic production rose 27.6% to 140,699 units, compared to the prior year. Overseas production increased 5.3% year-on-year to 181,558 units, making a record production month for plants worldwide.

In the US, year-on-year production dropped 4.2% to 55,703 units. Production in Mexico fell 17.7% year-on-year to 33,239 units. In the UK, the Qashqai (Dualis in Japan), Note and Micra (March in Japan) led a production growth of 38.0% year-on-year to 36,904 units.

Production in Spain increased 5.5% year-on-year to 20,922 units.

Production in other regions rose 27.8% year-on-year to 34,790 units, due to demand for the Livina series in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan and South Africa. Increased production of the Frontier Navara in Thailand and Bluebird Sylphy in China also contributed to the improved performance.

2. Sales
In Japan, Nissan’s registrations in February were up 4.4% from the previous year to 62,795 units due to strong demand for the Dualis, X-Trail, Note and Tiida. Domestic sales of mini-vehicles dropped 19.9% year-on-year to 13,642 units. Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 76,437 units in Japan, down 1.0% year-on-year.

The company’s share of the domestic market registrations in February was up 0.8 percentage points year-on-year to 19.5% while the corresponding market share including mini-vehicles decreased 0.1 percentage point to 15.2%.

Sales of new vehicles in the US grew 1.2%* year-on-year to 86,219 units due to favorable sales of the new Murano (launched in January), new Rogue and Infiniti G37 coupe (Skyline coupe in Japan).

In Europe, strong performance from the Qashqai, Tiida and X-Trail continued to boost Nissan sales to 53,606 units, exceeding the previous year by 65.1%.

*US sales: -2.9% after equivalent adjustment for actual days of selling in February.

3. Japan Exports
Nissan’s exports in February increased 48.9% to 75,184 units year-on-year.

Exports to North America rose 26.1% year-on-year to 28,648 units.

Exports to Europe grew 47.0% year-on-year to 8,720 units.
