Mumbai, July 23, 2007: Mahindra and Mahindra is now launching Scorpio gateway in India. It was first launched in South Africa and Australia and became very popular there.

It is coming with a 2.6 common rail diesel engine. Mahindra Scorpio Gateway is coming in two versions i.e. 2 WD and 4 WD. The wheelbase of the Getaway has been increased by nine inches, while the length has increased by 14 inches.

It is perfect vehicle to match the lifestyle of the growing breed of young adventurous Indians. The company is banking big on the Scorpio’s global appeal, thanks largely to its success in some overseas markets such as South Africa, Europe and more recently, Russia. The Scorpio Getaway was the first vehicle from M&M to be launched globally first.

Scorpio Gateway is such a SUV that its demand in US would be great. The company is planning to introduce it in US soon. Senior VP – Engineering, M&M, and Dr Arun Jaura said the company would introduce a 2.2 liter engine on the Scorpio by September this year. 

Scorpio Gateway would cost around Rs. 6.99 lakhs.
