Bangalore, February 21, 2006: Looking at the increased transactions in Asia and within India, Volvo group is now building a base for itself in Bangalore, India. This Center at Bagmane Park was inaugurated today by Mr. Eric Leblanc, Managing Director, Volvo India, Mr. Ulf Nilsson CEO, Volvo IT & Mr. Anders Ydergard, Senior Vice President, Volvo 3P Product Development.

Bangalore has been chosen as the best location within India because of its qualified workforce. The target is to establish a hub to meet the growing demand of Volvo in India. The main aim is product development and Volvo IT will increase its locals sourcing from India to meet the demands of customers.

India is place where Volvos Foundation is becoming deeper due to its need for trucks, buses, construction equipment, engines etc. So the technology center at Bangalore will play a vital role in meeting these requirements and setting a name for itself.

Volvo IT provides extensive application management and infrastructure support across Volvo’s business areas including global dealer business support functions; build up of SAP competence, IT infrastructure and Product Lifecycle Management.

So the right place has been targeted at the perfect time for achieving excellence.
