Haridwar, October 19, 2006: At the grand ceremony of the new plant in Haridwar by Hero Honda Motors, Dr. Manmohan Singh did the honors of laying the foundation stone.

Many renowned personalities graced the occasion by their presence. Sh. ND Tiwari, Chief Minister of uttranchal, Mr. Brij Mohal lal Munjal, chairman hero Honda Motors Ltd. and Mr. Pawan Munjal, the Managing Director along with come senior executive and government official were present at the function.

The Munjal Family was extremely Grateful to Mr. Manmohan Singh for talking out time for this occasion. They expressed their heart felt gratitude to him.

This new plant in Haridwar has been located at the integrated industrial Estate. The company is making an investment of around 400 crores on the plant with a production capacity of 500,000 units. The plant will start somewhere in June 2007. It will also have flexible production for all models in the Hero Honda portfolio, including the recently launched 150 cc stunner CBZ X-treme and the most advanced Fuel-injection based Glamour FI.

The company is on a verge of expansion. Existing plants in Gurgaon and Dehradun are also under this expansion process. Hero Honda has chosen Haridwar for its new plant as it’s in one of the fastest growing states. It is coming forward in every aspect from IT to power to roads, telecommunication and what not.
