New Delhi, May 22, 2007: New Chevrolet Optra, diesel model will be launched by General Motors. It will come in the market by the beginning of June.

It will be manufactured in the Halol facility of the company in Gujarat. New Optra would give tough competition to Skoda Octavia.

Mr. P Balendran, the vice president of General Motors India said that, "The common rail diesel variant would be powered by a 2.0 liter engine and would be competitively priced to take-on competition."
