General Motors came out with an abundance of cars at the Delhi Auto Expo 2012. The vehicles were being displayed in the Chevrolet Pavilion. They are categorised in three themes Namely Chevrolet Technology, Chevrolet Next, and the Chevrolet Performance. The Chevrolet Next theme has a wide range of models from GM, these new models are expected to come up in India by next year. Tavera Neo3 is also there in this group, this is a newer and an upgraded version of the old Tavera. It has been spruced to be more premium and luxurious. This upgraded version sports Chevrolet’s bigger logo and a twin port grill. The topmost variant will also be available in two tone colour for the body. The Chevrolet Tavera Neo3 sports good fuel efficient and turbo charged engine. The diesel engine comes with a BS4 emission.
The Expo also had a newer refreshed version of Captiva. The Captive had come to India back in Auto Expo 2008. This time GM is going too present the new 2.2 AT next Gen Captiva. The new version has automatic transmission and it comes with a powerful engine of 2.2 litres. It has a nice sporty look with a muscular exterior. The interior has been made jet black. The new Captiva will be having ventilation, cruise control, and air-conditioning. Some other features to enthral the automotive enthusiasts is electric parking, wipers which are rain sensing, and the sunroof.
Along with the corvette stingray, the racing car cruze, captive 2.2 AT, and the Camaro Convertible, GM will also present the Chevrolet Beat and the special Chevrolet Cruze. Chevrolet Beat won the best Adventure Car in the category of Raid de Himalaya.
In the Next Section of the Chevrolet pavilion there was the hatchback of the Chevrolet Sail and also Chevrolet MPV. The company is going to unveil Chevrolet MPV, Beat Diesel, and the Music Edition of Beat together. In Chevrolet Innovation & Technology section GM plans to display the future technology like Chevrolet Volt. It has huge extension of technology and first electric vehicle in the world which has been produced in such large scale. The Beat which has a battery which weighs around 270 kilogram and has a power of driving up to 98 kilometres in normal conditions is a first in its range.
The EN-V by Chevrolet is short for being a vehicle with electric network. There is also the LPG version of the Chevrolet Spark along with electric versions of other cars. At the Chevrolet pavilion, in the Performance section the biggest attraction were all the legends from GM. The legends include concept version of Corvette Stingray, the racing car named Cruz, and the Camaro Convertible. All the cars presented by Chevrolet had some of the latest technologies with promising designs and performance. The company also showed many environmentally friendly cars. According to the company the cars were made according to the requirements of the Indian consumers and would be helpful for their daily transport. Chevrolet had a strong presence at this version of Auto Expo.
